Fashion Friday #1

Since I have been at the beach the past few days, I decided that I would post about my favorite beach going beauty products - sunscreen & tanning lotion!!

Now, both of these come from the same brand, which I discovered on my very first cruise in 2008! My sister and I had both forgotten our sunscreens in the states and desperately needed some to protect our bodies from the Caribbean sun. We stumbled upon this gem, and I have yet to turn back!

And the best part is the smell! It has been rated #1 for the way it smells, which to me smells of orange sherbet. Who doesn't want to lie by the pool or on the beach and smell of orange sherbert? I sure love it!!!

However, when it comes to my face, that's a completely different story! I've suffered with cystic acne and oily skin for awhile so I'm hesitant and cautious about what goes on my face of near my face. Nothing scented...ever!!! That's why I use Aveeno sunblock when I'm getting some sun. It's gentle on my skin and doesn't leave any residue. I love it!

Here are the goodies I used on the trip that I just took to Gulf Shores:

What are your go to beach beauty products?

Fashion Friday

Okay, friends, I am going to start posting on Fridays about different fashion related things.
For the summer, I'm going to post about my favorite fashion/beauty items.
Once school starts back up in mid-August, and I start teaching again, I'm going to do a little experiment!
I'm going to willingly let Mr. GrapeJuice choose my outfits once a week and then I'll blog about it.
I'm hoping it'll help me revamp my wardrobe and look at my pieces of clothing in different ways.
Here's to trusting my husband!!

accident waiting to happen

I'm an accident waiting to happen.

If there's a wall to run into, I'll run into it.
If there's a door that'll open into my face, it'll open.
If there's a ground to trip over, I'll trip.
If there's a step to trip on or fall down, I'll trip up the stairs or fall down them.
If there's a car accident to get into, I'll get into one.

In the past 2 years, I've been in 3 car accidents.

I hydroplaned right before the flood in May 2010.

In May 2012, I hit my house.

And, in July 2012 {yesterday}, someone hit me!

I just want it all to stop. No more car accidents, please, dear Baby Jesus! I either need to figure out a job to do in the home that doesn't involve traveling in a car, or I need to get a chauffeur! I'm good with either, mainly the chauffeur because I like my job, and I wouldn't mind having someone drive me around where I want to go.

Thankfully, I've never been seriously injured in these accidents, but I'm terrified that I'm going to have to say goodbye to my Lexus. I hope to find out soon because I don't want to buy a car. {ugh} Here's hoping!!

the 4th

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July yesterday!

Here's a little recap of what Mr. GrapeJuice and I did with the family...

1. We tried to soak watermelon with tequila. It didn't work the way it was supposed to, but I think that it was user error on my part! ;) So, we ended up slicing up the watermelon and marinating it that way. Then, we mashed it and made skinny 'ritas with it. It was nice and refreshing and not overwhelming at all. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but no one else did. They claimed it had no flavor. Oh well! There was more for me!!!

2. We wore our obligatory red, white, and blue!
{my nails that I did all by myself!}
{my sister and I}
{my sister and my niece}
{mr. grapejuice and I}

3. We ate lots of yummy food and drank cool drinks!!!
 {I made cake cookies}
 {here's a close up!}
 {the cute "boom boom" straws my mom picked up at hobby lobby}
 {rice crispy, blueberry, and strawberry "sparklers" that were too cute to eat}

4. And, last but not least, my "smart" husband set the ground on fire with a firework. Now, I don't know about you guys, but we have been having records temps in middle TN, which obviously means that the grass is dry, brittle, and DEAD. Where my parents live, the rule yesterday day was: "If you burn it, you buy it." Naturally, Mr. GrapeJuice thought it was a great idea to through a lit firework into the grass. Ugh, I could just smack him for not thinking before acting!!!!
