What'd You Say?!

I saw this partial article on BuzzFeed {one of my newest addictions}, and then found that someone else {Lisette} blogged about it with a link up.

So, here's my two cents on the matter!

I say:

 "car-ml;" not "carra-mel."

"been" with a short e sound

"cray-awn;" not "cray-ahn," "cran," or "crown"

"loyer;" not "law-yer"

"you guys" or "you all;" never "y'all"

"pajamas" as in "father"

"pick-AHN"

soda, not pop or coke

roundabout not traffic circle

tennis shoes; not gymshoes or sneakers

interstate; not freeway or highway

Mary and marry as the same; merry is different though

ant not ah-nt

"cauliflower" with a short i sound

at the store, it's a buggy not a shopping cart

There are many more, but I didn't want to bore you with all 122!
Do you say some of these words the same way or differently?
My husband, being from the north, often says things way different for me.
It provides endless entertainment for us!

Right now, some of my favorites are...

sea salt spray

running

netflix

sunbathing

nail polish

What are your favorites right now for summertime?

The Vintage Modern Wife: Happies and Crappies Link Up

Wow, it's been awhile since I have had a chance to do one of these! And, it's very fitting that I should have the opportunity today because my happy and my crappy are one in the same!

 Saying Goodbye to My Job

goodbye classroom that I spent 3 yrs of my life in. i will miss your beautiful blue & green walls.

goodbye hallways that i walked down every morning. i will miss seeing all the artwork.

goodbye trophy cases. i will miss how you showcase our talented students both on and off the field/court.

goodbye hallway mural that makes the school feel like home.

goodbye floor mosaic. you were definitely cheerful!

goodbye school.
not only did i spend 3.5 yrs of my teaching career with you; i also spent 5 yrs with you as a student.

it's a hard goodbye, and i will miss seeing my students grow up.

but, i'm ready for my new adventure.
{someone needs to hire me right now though...please!}

Getting Fit

So, my goal for June is to get back in shape.
Why, you may ask?
Because during the month of May I was a piggy and ate every bit of chocolate I could find to ease the end of the school year stress.
Did it work?
Um...more than I wanted it to!!
I gained 10 pounds.

After I ran the Country Music Half Marathon in April, I took a break from running.
I had so much going on in my life with end of the year duties, getting my house ready to sell, etc. I just never found time for myself to go and run.
Now that it's summer though, I have the time in the morning to run.
I also found this great little calendar to do during the month of June.

So, I'm running and doing some core work AND tracking everything I eat & do on My Fitness Pal.
If you want to be friends on MFP, leave me your MFP name in the comments below.
Let me just tell you though, I'm disgusted with myself and my eating habits.
Ugh, who knew there were so many calories in so many different "good" foods?!

Here's hoping I can kick these bad food habits and pick up good healthy ones!

W.I.R.W. #8

So, I've officially finished book three and am on to book four in the Beautiful Creatures saga.

I have to say, book three brought me to tears.
Now, it might have been because I had just finished up the last days at my current job, but the ending is quite sad!
It took all my will power just to pick up book four because book three devastated me.
But, I am happy to say that book four is comforting me, and it links book 2.5 in perfectly.
I can't wait to finish the series, and I hope it's a happy ending!
Stay tuned until next week.
